Warmth & Depth
This Colour Board, featuring Farrow & Ball paints, is an option if you have a North Facing Room - or a particularly dark area to decorate. There are still underlying grey tones in many of the shades, but the central colour has a warm lilac base note that brings warmth and depth to the scheme.
Red-based Neutrals
One reason this Colour Board will work well in a darker area, or north facing room, is that the neutrals are all red-based. They add a warmth and subtle elegance - perfect for both traditional and contemporary settings. If you would like to add a pop of colour try this sage green to introduce a vibrant contrast.
Colour Scales
I love Little Greene’s use of “Colour Scales” - graduated colours, usually 4, grouped according to undertone. The three central colours featured in this board are all the same - only with lighter and darker tints - all warm and contemporary. I’ve added a coordinating white and darker accent to balance the scheme.
Embrace Dark Colours
Another approach to darker areas within your home is not to fight against it, but to embrace the lack of light. In this Colour Board, featuring Farrow & Ball colours, you have a fabulous dark blue/green paired with a classic green/blue. Use these deep, saturated colours to bring a cocooning, snug feel to a room.
Contemporary Pinks
Little Greene recently introduced a new collection - “Sweet Treats” - this Colour Board features one of these new shades. The two contemporary pinks, paired with classic neutrals and a white, will work well in a dark hallway or a north facing room as the red undertones will radiate warmth throughout.
